We believe everyone deserves support. While we aren't always able to help directly, we've compiled the resources below so that no one in our community has to navigate hard times alone.

  • Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR) – Financial Aid Servicesraleighmasjid.org| Apply: Online Form | Printable Form

    Funded through Zakat, IAR's Social & Welfare Committee provides temporary financial assistance to individuals and families in the Greater Raleigh area facing job loss, changes in family circumstances, or resettlement as refugees. Funds are disbursed directly to landlords, utility companies, or other creditors on behalf of applicants. Allow up to 14 days for processing after a complete application is submitted.

    AlNoor Islamic Center (AIC) – Social & Welfarealnooric.org

    AIC's Social & Welfare Committee offers emergency financial assistance, apply online at their website.

    Islamic Center of Morrisville (ICM) – Financial Aidicmnc.org

    ICM's Social & Welfare Committee provides financial assistance to qualifying individuals in the local community and beyond, including support for rent, utility bills, and other basic needs, paid directly to the relevant organizations. Assistance is also extended to communities affected by natural disasters.

    Hajar's Well hajarswell.org

    A Durham-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on providing immediate temporary assistance and pathways to longer-term stability for vulnerable women in the community.

  • Government Benefit Programs

    SNAP (Food & Nutrition Services) Apply online at epass.nc.gov, in person at your county DSS office, or by mail. It can take up to 30 days to receive your EBT card after approval.

    WIC (Women, Infants & Children) - Find your local WIC clinic: ncdhhs.gov/wic-county-directory Available to pregnant women, postpartum/breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5. (those already on SNAP or Medicaid automatically qualify for income purposes).

  • Emergency & Rental Assistance

    Oak City Cares / Partnership for Children & Families (Wake County)partnershipwake.org | 919-443-0096 Walk-in coordinated entry hub for emergency shelters, street outreach, and homelessness prevention. 1430 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh. Mon–Fri, 10am–5pm. This is the primary access point for housing services in Wake County, including Triangle Family Services referrals.

    Triangle Family Servicestfsnc.org| 919-821-0790 Provides emergency financial assistance, case management, and financial counseling for Wake County residents facing eviction or homelessness. Access through Wake County's Coordinated Entry system (see Oak City Cares above).

    HUD Housing Counselor Locatorhud.gov | 1-800-569-4287 Free or low-cost counseling from HUD-approved agencies to help with eviction prevention, foreclosure, or finding affordable housing.

  • NC 211nc211.org | Dial 2-1-1 The single best starting point for almost any need — food, housing, utility help, childcare, health care, and more. Available 24/7, multilingual.

    NC ePASSepass.nc.gov Online portal to apply for SNAP, Medicaid, Work First (TANF cash assistance), and childcare subsidies in one place.

    Medicaid / NC Health Choice NC Medicaid covers low-income individuals and families; NC Health Choice covers children in families that earn too much for Medicaid but can't afford private insurance. Apply via ePASS or your county DSS.

    Work First (TANF) Short-term cash assistance (up to 24 months) for families with dependent children. Apply through your county DSS or ePASS.

    Child Care Subsidy Income-based financial assistance for childcare costs. Apply through your county DSS or ePASS.

    LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) Lump-sum utility assistance for heating/cooling costs, paid directly to your utility provider. Apply through your county DSS.
